Mexican Carne Asada Marinade Recipe

Ingredients:
- 3 pounds skirt steak
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 lime or lemon (juiced)
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- ½ cup onion (diced)
- ¼ cup cilantro (chopped)
- 4 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 Serrano pepper (diced)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1:
Whisk all the marinade ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
Step 2:
Place the meat in a large Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and ensure the steak is evenly coated. Let the meat marinate for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, in the refrigerator.
Step 3:
Preheat your grill to high heat. Cook the steak until it develops a charred surface and is cooked to your desired doneness (medium-rare to medium is ideal). Avoid overcooking to retain tenderness.
Step 4:
Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5–10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
Step 5:
Slice the Carne Asada thinly against the grain. Serve with warm tortillas, guacamole, and sour cream for a delicious meal.
Enjoy! 🌮🎉
